Thanks to the support of 110 loyal bicycle buyers in August, Affordabike was able to survive and move into a retail location at 207A St Philip street at the corner of St Philip and Spring street.
We now have womens frames!
We are also now using the KT brand rear hub made in Taiwan. This is the leading hub used in beach cruisers. The KT manufacturer produces 500,000 of coaster hubs alone per month. KT hubs are the same hubs used by Phat Cycles, one of our main competitors.
We are also using a higher quality paint called Sherkem resulting in a factory quality finish. This paint is much more durable than our last paint which was industrial enamel.

We have about 30 bicycles in stock at any given time. If you don't see one you like you can custom order for no extra charge.
Bicycles start at $110.00 and for that price the customer can choose a unisex or womens frame in black, white, or silver, choose wheel color (black, white, or silver) and choose their handlebars. You can also mix and match our stock colors. For instance you could choose a white frame with a black fork and chainguard or vice versa. After those choices, each upgrade is a little more. Pay $30 extra for a custom paint job or $10 extra for a cushy spring seat. Extra wide handlebars, luxury grips and sprockets, baskets, fenders...we have it all.
Our most expensive beach cruiser will still be about the same price as the cheapest beach cruisers that our competitors sell.
Affordabike is not just a brand, but a campaign created to promote eco-friendly transportation by getting more people on bicycles. We believe the main obstacle holding people back from buying a bicycle is price. If people could Affordabike, they would. Hence, we came up with the tag line “Affordabike, Can you?”
We saw how difficult it is for college students to afford designer bicycles at mainstream stores when they range from $250-$750 for a standard beach cruiser that may not even suit your personal taste.
Affordabike founders know firsthand what it is like to be a college student with limited income, which is why we created a brand that doesn’t require sacrificing your bank account for quality and appearance.
How do we do it?
We get the parts directly from the manufacturer and assemble them on-site. This way we cut out all intermediary distributors and pass the savings along to our customers. Assembling on-site allows us to strictly monitor the process and guarantee quality. We minimize assembly costs and then pass on those savings to the customers. Affordabike customers avoid paying the inflated brand name costs of our competitors while getting the same or better quality.
